NEMIA’S LIFE JOURNEY Nemia Jessie Catherine Symone Robinson was born to Lenny and Janice Robinson in Silver Spring, Maryland March 11, 1990, at 7:47 PM after 3 hours of labor. Like her, the day was warm, beautiful and sunny. A week after she was brought home, Lenny and Janice got the call that their beautiful baby girl had sickle cell disease. But God! He fixed it so that hers was one of the rare cases in which the fetal hemoglobin remained in her body for far longer than normal. He decided to spare her, and she never had a painful sickle cell crisis. Hallelujah for the great things He has done. She was a chubby baby, with bright eyes and, even then, an intense curiosity. She wanted to do and see everything. She attended 1st grade at Oakland Terrace Elementary School then continued her schooling at Calvary Christian School through the 8th grade. It was there that her ability to make lifelong friends began to show itself. This is a quality that she nurtured and developed, and it would serve her well in so many ways. She attended Blake High School, and it was here that her fashion sense began to emerge. She joined Barbizon Fashion school and embarked on developing her own fashion style. This would be an important part of her persona as she moved from High School to College.She attended Hampton University as a Marketing Major and did well but, more importantly, Nemia’s fashion sense and runway experience brought a circle of friends into her life that remained strong and stable well after leaving Hampton. This circle was and is so strong that they have traveled the world together going to London, Paris, Croatia, and other destinations. Some of them even bought homes in the same development to be close to each other. They have supported each other through their ups and downs and were literally there for her all the way to the end. Nemia’s professional life has been blessed as well. She started developing her skills even before her studies at Hampton. Her first truly professional job was as a Market Research Analyst for Best Buy. While still at Hampton, she was hired as a Program Analyst for the PRA Group. After leaving Hampton, she was employed at AT&T for a total of 7 years where she rose to the position of Senior Manager of Sales Operations. She then moved on to Everfi where she took on the position of Senior Manager, Revenue Operations. At the time of her passing, she was working for Google where she was Sales Operations Manager. Nemia loved the Lord and was not afraid to say it. Her Grandfather was a Minister, so she was very familiar with church. Her 1st Church home was Parker Memorial Baptist Church pastored by Rev. Guy A. Williams. As was her way, she developed lifelong friends there, one of whom was with her at the end. After PMBC, her 2nd church home was Reid Temple AME Church: North Campus, pastored by Rev. Matthew Whatley. That church is now Kingdom Fellowship AME church. God was always a large part of her life, and it is that knowledge that should make us all know that she is in His arms and that we will see her again. Her life was a miracle. She was “a peculiar treasure”. She lived her life fearlessly with the knowledge that with God, her family, and her friends, she would be good. We will miss her smile, her charm, her jokes, her sense of style, her ability to light up a room when she entered and, most of all, her unifying spirit that brought all in her presence together in love. Nemia was proceeded in death by her Great Grandparents; Alexander and Willie Lee Robinson, her Grandparents; John Davis, Jessie Davis and Rev. Harvey E. Robinson, and her Uncles; Nathaniel Davis, Jerry Davis, and Leon Cooper. Nemia is survived by her Parents; Leonard Byron Jones Robinson and Janice Davis Robinson, her Brother; Christopher Ryan Robinson, her Grandmother; Catherine Jones Robinson, her Great Uncle; Clarence Jones (Emily), her Uncles; John Davis Jr. (Hisayo), Clarence A. Robinson and Anthony Craig Davis Sr. (Amethyst), her Aunts; Brenda Jordan (Kenneth), Brigitte Moten (Dion), Carolyn Scott, Sheila Cooper, Jacqueline White (James), Geveryl Robinson and Gloria Bell (Leonard); a Nephew; Christopher Ryan Robinson Jr.; her Cousins; Owen Cooper, Quentin Cooper, Julian White, Jaron White, Brook Robinson, Eric Davis, Patrick Davis, Akiko Davis (Rod), Jessica Woodson (Roderick), Jeri Green (Devon), Courtney Davis, Giovannia Vialuch (Steven), Kelsey White (Ryan), Brittney Colon (Calvin), Morgan Jordan, Marisa Scott, Kira Day (Brian) Pierce Hicks (Nadia), Coy Hicks, Anthony Craig Davis Jr, Jordan Davis, Andrew George III, Angela Story (Clem), Valveeta Brown (Jimmy), great cousins, friends, colleagues and more loved ones than we can count. No matter how you knew her, she had an impact on every life she touched. She will be missed more than mere words can describe.
