Obituary for Sanobia Lynn Tobin Sanobia Lynn Tobin, 43, of the District of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, June 15th, 2023. Sanobia, affectionately known as “Nobe” was born on January 28th, 1980 to Daniel Wayne Tobin and Karen Lynn Miller-Tobin in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After Sanobia graduated from Valley High School in 1998, she went on to study Business at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, Communication and Media Studies it was Sanobia’s passion for fashion that steered her to retail. Sanobia was exposed to fashion at an early age. From the time she could walk Sanobia was her grandmother’s favorite shopping partner. It was then when she learned how to walk, talk, and capture a room. She spent over twenty years in retail, leaving her mark at Chico’s FAS, Inc., BCBGMAXAZRIA, and last but certainly not least Gap Inc. After becoming District Sales Manager, she welcomed the opportunity to change hats at Gap Inc. as a Senior Manager, Diversity Business Partner for Equality & Belonging. During the last year Sanobia served as Director of Brand Enablement and is known for “teaching people how to treat people.” Sanobia loved to travel. She started every year by celebrating her birthday on a beach. Her favorite hobbies were shopping, reading, and trips to the spa. She enjoyed trying new restaurants with friends, but also loved cooking with and for her family. She believed life was meant to be enjoyed. Sanobia had a giving spirit and was a blessing to others, especially her nieces, sister, and parents. Sanobia was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was predeceased by uncle, Clifton Miller and grandmother, Mary Graham. She is deeply missed by her parents Daniel and Karen Tobin, sister, Sara, and nieces Kalynn and Aras who she claimed as her own, as well as many beloved family members, co-workers, and friends especially those known as her “tribe.” Sanobia believed everyday was a gift never to be taken for granted. She lived each day with intention like there was no tomorrow. Her life’s mantra was, “Aspire to Inspire Before You Expire.” A true inspiration and motivating force that touched the lives of so many in such a special way, without a doubt she lived her mission. May her light remain an afterglow. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou Memorial Service will be held at Allegheny Center Alliance Church, 250 East Ohio Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 on Monday, July 24th at 11am.
